Periferi is the debut release from Ån, a new act from Gothenburg. Behind the name hides the Kortedala-based Matz Engdahl. A 40-minute long sound collage divided into several individual segments, each one with its own unique flavor. Evocative field recordings are mixed up with weirdly addictive string instruments. The almost folky tones at times bring Swedish stuff like Dusa and Amph to mind, though the sharp editing here and often long free-floating sounds sets this apart quite a bit. Lot to digest here and one of the more exciting new projects from Gothenburg in a while!

Periferi is made in an edition of 30 copies and comes housed in a by Longest Night beautifully screenprinted handmade cardboard box.
