There's no denying that Blackest Ever Black has released some stellar music over the last decade, so it's rather fitting that the London imprint's final release is arguably one of its strongest for some time. To say goodbye, label boss Kiran Sande has put together a superb collection of poignant explorations of ambient, electronica and lo-fi pop that includes a swathe of label debuts. There are far too many highlights to mention, though our current favourites include the folksy acoustic guitars and dreamy shoegaze ambience of Lightning In A Twilight Hour's "The Munich Post", the spaced-out lo-fi dreaminess of Bridget Hayden's "Solace", the throbbing creepiness of Brainman's "Kilonova" and the gentle warmth and slow-burn bliss of Ian Martin's "Missing Realism". To misquote Douglas Adams: so long, and thanks for all the bliss.
